Coaching Experience

I have been coaching triathletes for 5 years and coaching swimming for 15 years. I began as a competitive swimmer and when I graduated from college I needed somewhere to channel my energy and found triathlons, in which I have been competing for 6 years. In 2005 I qualified for the USAT Age Group Nationals. I have a degree in Sports Medicine and found that I could use my education to help people excel triathlons. I have never lost my love of swimming and also still compete in the occasional swim meet, where I have also qualified for Nationals in several events

Coaching Philosophy

I believe that training and competing in triathlon awards women tremendous amounts of confidence and personal conviction that is hard to find elsewhere. The belief and understanding of what you are able to accomplish in this sport carries on to other parts of your life and it is very rewarding. I love seeing women reach this place and inspiring them to carry that strength even further in whatever they do.

Disciplines:

Strength Training and Injury Prevention/ Rehabilitation:

I have been in the fitness industry for over 9 years and an athletic trainer for 6 years. I can help you with any injuries or nagging pains you have left over from the season and rehab and strengthen your body to better withstand the training regiment for next year. I can also help you with basic conditioning, and triathlon specific exercises.

Nutrition:

As well as working on your fitness I can help you with your nutrition. Whether your goal is to lose weight or sport-specific nutrition, I can help you with a plan to put you on the right track.

Swimming:

I work with all levels of swimmers. We can work on improving your stroke technique, or work on speed and endurance, whatever your needs are.

*Can also work on open water swimming.

Exercise Physiology:

Want to know your fitness level or heart rate zones? I can do some basic testing and figure out your fitness level and zones. This testing does not include blood withdrawals or oxygen masks, they are simple run or bike tests.
